I have been a professional writer and editor for over twenty years, both as a staff reporter at various national and regional newspapers and as a freelancer covering music for various national monthly magazines. I graduated in 1990 from the University of Texas at El Paso with a BA in broadcast journalism.
For a few years after my graduation, I covered regional crime and and U.S./Mexico politics for the El Paso Times newspaper. My blues journalism has appeared in Blues Revue since 1993 and I have reviewed hundreds of albums and dozens of concerts for the magazine since then. For the past four years I've been writing features about bands, people and technology in the music business for Onstage Magazine.
